Front Porch Classics Puzzle Logic Wooden Puzzle - Snake
Product Description
In the 19th century, cube puzzles came to Europe and the US via merchant ships from Shanghai. The popular puzzles became known as "Sunday Boxes", because they were a form of entertainment not restricted by the church. Young men began to sneak the puzzles into churches, where they appeared to pray as they quietly solved the mysteries of the puzzle. Tying the cubes together prevented them from falling noisily onto the floor or the wooden benches. The clergy ultimately came to regard the puzzles as a form of temptation and dubbed them "Snake Puzzles."
This fiendishly connected Snake Puzzle is deceptively simple looking. Twist and turn the connected blocks to create a snake from the cube - then the real puzzle begins, in attempting to form the cube again! In our version, 27 wooden blocks are held together by a sturdy elastic cord. The Snake Puzzle is made from sustainable beech wood, and the completed puzzle size measures 3 x 3 x 3 inches.
